Church History
Founding and Early Years
In November 2004, a small group of dedicated believers, led by Rev. Earlie Dixon, came together with the mission to create a Non-Traditional, Non-Judgmental, and Practical Church for the Unchurched. With only eight Charter members, a generous contribution from a friend of the ministry, and steadfast prayer, the vision for New Birth Worship Center took root. The church’s first public service was held on February 5, 2005, at 403 West 22nd Street in Anderson, Indiana. Rev. Earlie Dixon, accompanied by his wife, gospel recording artist First Lady Lutrille Dixon, established the church in a fully renovated building. On March 9, 2005, Rev. Dixon was ordained and installed as pastor, dedicating himself to community engagement and outreach. A graduate of Akron University and former contractor and carpenter, Pastor Dixon’s leadership was marked by a commitment to service and activism.
Leadership Transition and Growth
In 2023, Pastor Dixon began seeking a successor through prayer, asking the Lord for a helper to carry the church into a new season. After 21 years of faithful service, in the summer of 2025, Pastor Dixon introduced Rev. W. F. Rayford Jr.—his spiritual son in the Gospel—as the next Senior Pastor and CEO of New Birth Worship Center. Rev. Rayford’s selection was fully embraced, met with warmth and excitement by the congregation, and plans were set in motion for his formal installation this summer. Rev. Dixon has stepped back from his head leadership role, transitioned toward semi-retirement, standing side-by-side with Pastor Rayford, ministry partner, friend, and confidant with a tight knit non-collapsible bond as he prepares for his status as Pastor Emeritus-Founder following the 21st Pastor & Church Anniversary, Sunday, February 15, 2026 "Theme: Walking Together In Unity Ephesians 4:6" with Pastor Rayford as Pastor Elect and to complete the transition as Pastor Rayford’s installation on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 4PM (Morning Worship at 10:30AM with his brother Rev. Anthony D. Johnson, Senior Pastor of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church- Anderson) that makes Pastor Dixon's retirement official.
Looking Ahead: Continued Service and New Leadership
As retirement approaches, Rev. Dixon looks forward to dedicating more time to his wife of 40 years, Sis. Lutrille Dixon, but will remain actively involved in New Birth Worship Center. He will continue supporting the ministry through pastoral care and other areas, while Sis. Dixon will proudly serve as Mother of the Church. Their ongoing commitment underscores their faithful dedication to both God and their church family.
Rev. Rayford, a seasoned pastor and Anderson native with over 20 years of ministry experience, steps into leadership alongside his wife, Sis. Talisha D. Rayford, Lady T, and their five children together. Both Pastor Rayford and Lady T, are rooted in the same neighborhood and community they now serve, further strengthening the church’s connection to its neighborhood of over 20 years.
The Next Chapter
The New Birth Worship Center community looks forward to an exciting future, filled with anticipation for what God has planned. With new leadership and a growing young and vibrant congregation, the ministry is positioned to thrive and reach new heights as it enters this next chapter in its journey.

Church Services
& Times
Our church is a community of believers, not just a building. But dedicated to worship, fellowship, and service. It's a place where people grow in their faith, connect with others, and reach out to the community with compassion and the message of the gospel.
The Church as a Community:
- The church is a group of people who gather to worship God, learn from the Bible, and support one another in their faith journeys.
- It's a place where believers can find belonging, encouragement, and opportunities to serve.
- This community is not limited to a specific building or people; it extends beyond our four walls to all those who share in faith and fellowship.
Five Core Functions of the Church/
Assimilation Ministry:
Romans 15:7, "Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God."
The word "assimilate means " to absorb believers into the main body and fabric of the church.
Assimilation ministry, refers to the process of helping new members integrate and become active participants in the church community. It's more than just welcoming visitors; it's about fostering a sense of belonging and connection, ensuring they feel valued, and helping them find their place within the church's life and ministry.
